Ms. Britany Engelman is admitted to practice in all the California state courts, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Engelman joined The Cochran Firm in 2007, where she practices primarily in the areas of Personal Injury (involving catastrophic injury), Civil Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Entertainment, Premises Liability, Automobile Accidents and Complex Litigation. While at The Cochran Firm, Ms. Engelman has been an integral part of many trials and settlements, including several multi-million dollar settlements. Ms. Engelman is known for her strong work ethic, careful attention to detail, and ability to produce results for her clients. Prior to joining the The Cochran Firm, Ms. Engelman worked as a defense attorney for two years—giving her the unique ability to be able to see every case from both the defense and plaintiff’s perspective.

She attended the University of Southern California from 1998 to 2002, where she earned Bachelors Degrees in International Relations and French. She attended law school as a John J. Schumacher scholar at Southwestern University School of Law. While at Southwestern she served as the Alumni Relations Chair for the Black Law Students' Association. She was also an active member of the Entertainment & Sports Law Society.

In 2002, Ms. Engelman worked at the Paris, France offices of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, where she worked in a bilingual environment as an integral part of a multi-billion dollar merger and acquisition team.

In 2003, Ms. Engelman earned a Public Interest Law Grant to clerk at the Children's Law Center, where she advocated for children's rights in the dependency branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court.

In 2003, Ms. Engelman was named as a recipient of the ABA Section of Business Law Scholarship.

Ms. Engelman is a Mellon Fellow, and is listed on the "Wall of Scholars" in Leavey Library at USC.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Black Women Lawyers, and The Langston Bar Association. She is Fluent in French and is an avid college football fan.
