Born in Dhahran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia April 23, 1953. Graduated from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1975 with a cum laude degree in English and a minor in journalism. Attended New Orleans Loyola University School of Law, graduating in 1985. Won Client Counseling Competition, along with partner, and was first oralist in moot court competition. During law school, worked at the New Orleans District Attorney's office.

Bar Admissions:

Ms. Lavender is admitted to practice before the Louisiana Supreme Court and all Louisiana State Courts. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.
