John J. Givens is an attorney with the Dothan office of The Cochran Firm and is a native of Dothan , Alabama. His practice focuses on civil litigation with a concentration in the areas of personal injury, environmental law, products liability, and complex litigation.

John is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts and all Federal Courts in the Middle District of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, the Houston County Bar Association, and The Order of the Barristers.

Before joining The Cochran Firm – Dothan, John received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. While attending the University of Alabama, John was a member of four national trial advocacy teams and received two George Peach Taylor Awards for outstanding trial advocacy. He was also a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award. .

John graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2008. As an undergraduate, John was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies.
