As a trial attorney with The Cochran Firm Atlanta, Jim Hodes focuses his civil practice in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. He also practices criminal defense in state and federal courts.
Jim helped developed the firm’s Latino practice which has led to the firm’s official relationship with the government of Guatemala representing Guatemalan citizens throughout the United States through the Guatemalan consular offices.
With his extensive international legal experience, Jim worked with the American Bar Association in Kosovo and Macedonia directing projects which documented war crimes. On behalf of the International Bar Association, Jim worked with the Law Society of Zimbabwe developing human rights training curriculum and helping to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and the Law Society.
Jim was the lead trial attorney at the Special Court for Sierra Leone in the prosecution of the Government v. the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) and subsequently was a legal expert aiding the Egyptian government in the creation of a national public defender system.
