Peter S. Heller practices criminal law in both State and Federal Courts in the state of Florida. As an attorney with The Cochran Firm, he directs the Florida Criminal Defense Division. A 1983 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Peter is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a judge for the National Moot Court Competition.
Peter received an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest achievable ABA rating given to an attorney. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Trial Lawyers Association where he was selected as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers for the state of Florida. Peter is the 2009 recipient of the prestigious John Edward Knight Child Advocacy Award presented annually by the Lawyers for Children of America organization.
