Robert V. Torres joined The Cochran Firm in April, 2009, as head of our Employment Law Department. Mr. Torres represents clients in cases involving employment Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Wage and Hour Claims and Wrongful Termination. Mr. Torres is fluent in Spanish.
Robert Torres is an outstanding civil trial attorney and litigator, practicing in Los Angeles County and throughout California since 1989. He possesses exceptional analytical and advocacy skills. From the first client interview to the conclusion of the case, he works meticulously to obtain the best possible results for his clients.
Robert Torres graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1986. After UCLA, Mr. Torres attended Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles and graduated in 1989. Mr. Torres was admitted to the State Bar of California, Federal District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeal in 1989.
From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Torres was an associate attorney in a Century City insurance defense litigation and trial firm representing, individuals, corporations, public entities, and insurance companies in civil litigation. In 1991, Mr. Torres joined a boutique civil business and tort litigation firm in Torrance, California. From 1994 until he joined the Cochran Firm, Mr. Torres operated his own law firm, the Law Offices of Robert V. Torres where the primary focus of his practice was Employment Law.
Robert Torres also has represented numerous individuals in cases involving personal injury and wrongful death. Such cases include auto accidents, maritime seaman's injuries, assault and battery, civil rights violations, and defamation.
