Winston James Thompson, III is the managing partner of The Cochran Firm’s Jackson, Mississippi office. Mr. Thompson pursued an academic career at Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Finance. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2000 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

During his legal career, Winston has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a multitude of cases in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. Mr. Thompson has also served as Chief Assistant District Attorney for Hinds County. As managing partner of the Cochran Firm, he specializes in general trial litigation involving mass tort, personal injury, and criminal defense cases.

Winston J. Thompson, III has been a member of the State Bar of Mississippi since 2001. He is also a member of professional organizations such as the Hinds County Bar Association, NAACP, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
