Jim is a partner with The Cochran Firm Salt Lake City and St. George offices in Utah. He has been practicing law since 2005 and fights vigorously for his clients seeking just compensation for those who have been wronged, harmed or injured by another. With an accounting degree and an advanced law degree in taxation, Jim has a unique skillset for the industry which allows him to bring a fresh and analytical approach to reviewing the “numbers”, helping him to maximize any settlement or award available to his clients. Jim was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where he graduated from Hillcrest High School in the heart of the valley. After high school, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Utah. Although Jim loved strategic analysis and numbers, he wasn’t fulfilled and felt a deep desire to help those who have been injured and were otherwise unable to help themselves. He then went on to receive his law degree from the University of Arkansas where he also worked for an insurance defense firm. He then obtained his Master of Laws from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he further deepened his understanding of the nuisances and games that insurance companies and large corporations play. After finishing his legal studies Jim move his family to Las Vega, Nevada where he is licensed to practice and lived there for several years before moving back to Utah.
