He said he was at the video games playing videos and he went over there by the toy section where the toy guns were,\u201d Ms. Johnson said. \u201cAnd the next thing I know, he said \u2018It\u2019s not real,\u2019 and the police start shooting and they said \u2018Get on the ground,\u2019 but he was already on the ground because they had shot him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lamon Brown, a cousin of the victim, told the Daily News that he also believed that the weapon at the center of the tragedy was not real, as Mr. Crawford did not own a bb\/pellet air rifle-type gun. Tasha Thomas, who drove Mr. Crawford to the Beavercreek Wal-Mart on Tuesday evening, also stated that he was not armed when he entered the store.<\/p>\n
Just days after the police shooting, the suspicions of Mr. Crawford\u2019s friends and loved ones were confirmed.
