Men severely beaten by fellow fans allege negligence in security<\/b><\/h3>\n

\"49ers-logo\"<\/a>Two men severely beaten in a stadium bathroom before a San Francisco 49ers game last year recently filed a personal injury lawsuit against the NFL team, the stadium\u2019s management company, and the city of Santa Clara, California. The injury lawsuit alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate security<\/a> in areas at risk of altercations, failed to identify intoxicated patrons, and allowed the assailants who displayed gang attire to enter the stadium grounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plaintiffs, cousins Kiran and Amish Patel, were season ticket holders attending a 49ers home game last year against the Kansas City Chiefs. While in line in the men\u2019s room, an altercation took place between the plaintiffs and two men believed to have gang connections. Two brothers, Dario Rebollero and Amador Rebollero, were charged in the brutal beating.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the plaintiffs was beaten until he suffered hemorrhaging in the brain, requiring surgery. He also suffered from partial paralysis after the attack. Both plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages for their injuries and medical bills incurred.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the San Francisco 49ers football team and subsidiary management companies, the plaintiffs are seeking damages from the city of Santa Clara, California, where the football stadium is located. The lawsuit claims the city allowed dangerous conditions on public property to arise by the city\u2019s inability to inspect and surveil drunk and intoxicated patrons as well as stadium goers with possible gang ties.<\/span><\/p>\n

The suit alleges San Francisco 49ers game are well known throughout the league to be plagued with rowdy fans, possible gang members, and fighting due to intoxicated fans. The lawsuit even mentions recent legal troubles by 49ers players as well. The personal injury claim was filed just a few days after a Minnesota Vikings fan was beaten in the parking lot of the San Francisco 49ers\u2019 stadium following a Monday Night Football game.<\/span><\/p>\n
