The new program will aid in the fight against nursing home abuse and neglect by providing legal aid and support services to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries hurt by caregivers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">OVC's mission is to develop a network of legal assistance programs to provide comprehensive support to victims of crime. Elder Justice Americorps will hire approximately 60 full-time employees to complement the work of OVC. The Elder Justice Americorps program is expected to run for two years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The program is a much-needed step in the fight against the growing epidemic of nursing home and abuse across the country, particularly in nursing homes that receive Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement.
