Ms. Fournier has tried numerous criminal and civil cases to favorable verdict, has extensive state and federal appellate experience, and has argued before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.  She has defended individuals charged with a wide array of federal and state criminal charges, including high-profile white-collar fraud and bribery charges.  Ms. Fournier was previously a litigation partner at Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP and at Figliulo & Silverman PC prior to its merger with SGR. While there, she focused on business litigation, including shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, contract disputes, class action defense, and other complex commercial matters in both state and federal court.

Immediately after law school, Ms. Fournier served as a fellow at Cabrini Green Legal Aid, where she practiced criminal and juvenile defense and criminal records relief, including successfully obtaining executive clemency for individuals with felony convictions.  While in law school, Ms. Fournier gained significant criminal defense experience by clerking for the Federal Defender Programs in the Eastern District of California and Middle District of Tennessee as well as serving as a participant in the University of Chicago’s Federal Criminal Justice Project.   

Ms. Fournier is recognized as a Leading Lawyer by Leading Lawyers Magazine, which designation is given to less than 5% of all lawyers licensed in each state, and was recognized as an Emerging Lawyer earlier in her career, which designation represents the top 2% of lawyers in Illinois under 40 years old or practicing less than 10 years. She was featured in Leading Lawyers Magazine in 2020.
