Christopher E. Peters has been in the active practice of trial law since 1975. Born in Mobile, Alabama in 1950, Chris graduated Magna cum Laude from Spring Hill College in 1972 and obtained his Juris Doctor from University of Alabama School of Law (Magna cum Laude) in 1975. While attending law school, Chris served on the editorial board of the Alabama Law Review, was named a Hugo L. Black Scholar, and was inducted into the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, and the Order of the Coif. He has practiced in all courts of the state of Alabama, the federal district courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Alabama, and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
He has also been admitted as lead trial counsel pro hac vice in the state and federal courts of Mississippi and Louisiana. Chris is a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Alabama State Bar, and the Mobile Bar Association. He is past president of the Southwest Alabama Trial Lawyers Association.
Chris has concentrated his practice in Workplace Injury and Death litigation, Products Liability, General Negligence, Environmental Contamination, and Maritime and Admiralty Personal Injury and Wrongful Death. He has successfully argued appeals before the Supreme Court of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit for many years. His clients have primarily been the victims of injury, death, fraud, and industrial contamination.
