The Cochran Firm, DC is pleased to announce Brandon Banks from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota has won the Spring 2017 Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. Memorial Scholarship for his essay on How Social Media Has Helped Advance the Cause of Civil Rights in America. Our office received many terrific essays from hardworking students around the country and although it was difficult to pick a winner, Brandon’s essay stood out from the finalists.
Brandon is a mechanical engineering student at Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus. He enters the Fall semester in excellent academic standing and heightened civic engagement with the local community. Purdue is one of the country’s finest schools for engineering and we are extremely confident Brandon will excel in his studies and make a positive impact in the years to come.
